Here is her Lunarpages shared hosting review:
Customer [non] Support is slow to respond. Their responses are most-often copy/pasted text from their online knowledge base and they generally read something along the lines of, "we are aware of the problem and are working as quickly as possible to resolve ... blah blah blah ... " Each time you contact support, you get the same message. It think it is just a recording or a bot doing the work for them.
Reliability for me was pretty good, although I understand from some folks in the Forums, I was one of the lucky ones. Every webhost has their issues, but it seems LP is pretty slow in getting their issues resolved. For example, the recent Horde vulnerability in cPanel ... LP *still* doesn't have all their servers patched. cPanel released the patch/update over a month ago. I did have a couple of issues where, I got banned from my own site due to "too many ftp connections". Apparently, they dropped the number of allowed connections from 8 to 2 and didn't bother to tell anyone. This caused a few issues for me for about 2 weeks. I also had periodic issues with email access, where is would randomly reject my credentials. I was checking about 10 pop accounts at a time and was told that was too many. When I inquired what number it should be, they told me I should only check one email account at a time. Yeah, like *that* is gonna happen.
Setup was easy ... was up and running with my domain in a matter of a few minutes. So, they have that going for them.
Information that should flow to customers regarding outages, planned maintenance and the time frames involved is virtually non-existent. If lack of communication and getting the run-around bothers you, stay away from Lunarpages.
